It's finally snowing!

After nearly 3 weeks in Europe, it is super exciting to see the first real snowfall of the season! Due to the lack of snow, we have spent the past few weeks skiing up on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier at altitude of 3000m. Whilst it has been a great training block, it is very tiring and dehydrating at those heights, so I am really looking forward to being able to train lower down in the valley! The skiing has been great so far - we've had some great days of training, and the best news is that, on the whole, my knee has been behaving itself. The past few days have been a little frustrating with heavy snowfalls and windy, stormy conditions, but what can you do?! I guess that's the nature of our sport!

Tomorrow we are going to do a few hours of powder skiing in the morning, and then head off to Italy in the afternoon for 2 GS races on Monday and Tuesday. Unfortunately the Europa Cup that we had planned to do this week was cancelled due to lack of snow, but at least I get to return to racing this week with an easier CIT race in Solda, Italy. I am really looking forward to racing again and looking forward to testing my knee out in what I expect to be some quite bumpy conditions. Be sure to check out my FIS bio online to see the results!

Finally I hope you all have a very happy and safe christmas and new year.

All my love,

Lav xoxo
